About
The 2021 Archives Bazaar theme is “Archives in Popular Culture”. The filming of Killers of the Flower Moon is taking place this year, and many Oklahoma archives were utilized by author David Grann to write the book that inspired the movie. Are there materials at your institution that have been cited in works of popular culture? Books, articles, movies or television? Adherence to the theme is not a requirement for participation, but we would love to show the public how historians and other content creators draw inspiration from archives in Oklahoma. The goal of this event is to inform the public about archives in Oklahoma and will be entirely online.
The 2021 Bazaar will be presented via an Omeka digital exhibit and will launch on October 2, 2021. All participants of the 2021 OAA Bazaar are also invited to participate in the Oklahoma Historical Society’s Folklife Festival October 16, 2021 at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. At the festival you can host a table showcasing your institution and collections, just like a traditional archives bazaar. https://www.okhistory.org/historycenter/folklifesignup
